When Debra Wallace was in the third grade growing up in Chicago she had a class project: talk about your “Impossible Dream.”
Already comfortable speaking in front of others, Debra took her index cards and spoke clearly about her vision; becoming a writer, and using her love of books and people, to make the world a better place. She did not know it yet, but that’s exactly what she would pursue in becoming a journalist and using the power of the pen and the keyboard to help change people’s lives.
For more than 25 years, Debra has written about celebrities, entertainment, human-interest dramas, and non-profits to help make the world a better place. Debra is an award-winning Philadelphia-based journalist, author, feature writer and online content provider with more than 25 years of professional experience. She is also a noted public speaker, writing coach, and mentor who believes in empowering women of all ages.
Her A-list celebrity profiles, entertainment features, and heartfelt human interest stories have graced the covers and inside pages of Family Circle, Cosmopolitan, British Glamour, Chicken Soup for the Soul, Philadelphia Life, South Jersey Magazine, WomansDay.Com, PopCultureMadness.Com, JerseyFamilyFun.Com, and many other publications and websites. Her stories are published in the U.S., Canada, the UK, Australia, and 35 other countries. She has written more than 10,000 cover stories and features for these and other publications.
As the loving mother of an 11-year-old son with autism, Debra writes frequently on autism and special needs parenting and is involved in spreading the word about acceptance, awareness, kindness, inclusion,
and love for all children, regardless of their differences. This is accomplished with her writing and through the non-profit Suburban Philadelphia-based Autism Cares Foundation. In her capacity as a publicist for several non-profits and small and large businesses, she has successfully marketed and branded them to advance their missions and goals.
